NBA 2k went all out for 2026, and players say it was about time. Where Candace Parker became the first female basketball player to grace the cover only 3 years ago, Erick Boenisch now says, players have “new and deeper way to engage with the WNBA.” Caitlin Clark and Step Curry on a team? You got it. Sheryl Swoopes to Shaquille O’Neal? A tap away. The promotional clip, though, took it even further– Clark against LeBron James. Aliyah Boston and Parker are having a good laugh. LeBron’s PR team? Maybe not so much.
The viral clip for the upcoming video game, tapped into the “wildest imaginations’ as Boenisch, the VP of NBA Development at Visual Concepts, calls it. We got Paige Buecker chest-bumping Dirk Nowitzki while A’ja Wilson threw a lob to Bam Adebayo. But perhaps in the carziest of them all, Caitlin Clark drove into the paint with LeBron guarding. And instead of a layup, she flew to the rim to ram a dunk. It sent the Lakers icon flat on his back to the ground.
That clip has reached Clark’s partner in crime. Reacting on her podcast ‘Post Moves’, Aliyah Boston, immediately said while controlling her laughs, “Walking over him is crazy work. That’s crazy work.” First thing, the reigning ROTY doesn’t dunk, and against LeBron James, that’s a far-fetched reality. That’s why the creators went all in– whether a WNBA player or NBA, the game will have badges and attributes that allow for balanced gameplay.

Boston and Parker understand that’s a matchup ‘you can’t say not to’. Two elite players, fans of each other’s games. While James says, “If you don’t rock with Caitlin Clark game you’re just a FLAT OUT HATER!!!!!” the Fever sensation calls him her GOAT. So the combination checks out, but with the way LeBron fell to the ground, the Sparks icon believes his PR might get involved.
“But LeBron’s PR team has got to get rid of that,” she said. “Like, look at his arms. Not the King. Come on, man. You can’t do that to Bron. Don’t do that.” The Fever forward agreed immediately. “They have to. They have to do some work. Because please, why is he laid out like that?”

The video game is already receiving flak for leaving James off the top 10 shooting lists, and this isn’t doing any favors. The players, though, are loving the new feature. Wilson took to Threads to express surprise while Boston is ready to take on the Lakers and run her pick and roll with Clark– which she is tremendously missing in her actual 2025 WNBA season. It is already better than what 2k25 had to offer, especially concerning her teammate.

Boston Criticises 2K25 for Botching Her Teammate’s Face
As we all might or might not remember, the NBA 2k 25 fumbled Lexie Hull’s face real bad. And that was very surprising considering Hull exploded in 2024 with her then career best statistics. Her dynamic with Clark was only adding on to her popularity further. So Candace Parker couldn’t help but think back about the moment. “They kind of did her dirty in 2025,” she admitted.
Hull was included in the worst scans of 2025 lists on Reddit, along with a few others. Looking at her 2k25 avatar, Boston said, “And it’s crazy because we don’t do my girl Lex like that. Please. It’s crazy, though, because we do the scans.” Parker replied with a laugh, “Yeah, but I don’t know who showed up to the scan for that. That is crazy. That is crazy work. She got a ballet.”

The NBA 2k game is notoriously known for getting faces wrong. But with the technology upgrading, that’s one area you can’t fumble upon. Even Chennedy Carter called out on Likeness, posting a comparison on her story while writing, “They wrong for this.” Regardless, the 2k26 revolution is the step in the right direction, making up for most, if not all.
