Heartbroken After 4-Year-Old’s Fatal Horse Accident, Equestrian Community Lends Helping Hand

Unlike many kids his age, 4-year-old Houston got his first stripes learning how to ride a horse. Houston Hampton is an equestrian at heart who also loves to help out his father at their farm. Everyone in the community of Sevier County, Utah, loves the kid. That is why county residents are heartbroken about what happened to little Houston this last Friday.

Deadly Equestrian accident

Recently, a horse kicked the poor boy in the head, leaving him unconscious and his forehead gashed. He suffered a grave injury, and the EMTs had to rush him to the hospital.

Utah community rising to the occasion

The family still awaits the good news of the boy’s recovery and shares updates on an Instagram profile dedicated to his recovery. Meanwhile, the whole central Utah community has come forward to help the family by starting a fundraiser named the same as the Instagram profile, “Hats off to Houston.”

An outpouring support from Equestrian community

On July 19, members of the equestrian community flocked to the benefit event at the Blackhawk Arena, Salina to extend support.
