Ex-Eagles Legend Urges Jalen Hurts To Sign $500,000,000 Deal Like Patrick Mahomes

Jalen Hurts is currently entering the final year of his contract with the Eagles. After taking the Philly side to the Super Bowl earlier this year, he is expecting to receive a contract extension from the franchise. However, one Philly legend believes Hurts should take a Patrick Mahomes-type deal, who currently has the biggest contract in the history of the NFL.

Patrick Mahomes’ contract with the Chiefs

In 2020, the Chiefs handed out one of the biggest contracts in NFL history to one of the young prospects, Patrick Mahomes, which will see him earning $450 million through 10 years. His annual salary is around $45 million. Certainly, he paid the Chiefs back with a Super Bowl victory earlier this year. This extension also gives the Chiefs enough flexibility to build championship rosters every year. With the quarterback market increasing every year, in a few years, the Mahomes deal could look like a bargain.

Former Eagles legend wants Jalen Hurts to sign the same deal

Former Eagles player LeSean McCoy recently talked in the show, ‘Speak’, and said, “I think he should, I think that will be perfect for himself and also the team. When you look at Jalen Hurts, he comes off as like a team guy. And I truly believe that, I think that for the Eagles, they always talk about the attributes, the talent. But the leadership, I think is one of his biggest qualities as a player. I think if you lock a guy like him for 10 years in that franchise; the city loves him, the community loves him, and obviously, the franchise loves him. You can surround him with all these players, talented players.”

McCoy compared the mentality between Mahomes and Hurts

In the same show, McCoy said, “When he (Patrick Mahomes) took that team-friendly deal of 10 years, that let him know that he wants to win games. I look at Jalen Hurts, he wants to win games. It’s not all about ‘Oh I want to be the highest-paid quarterback’.” Certainly, it will be interesting to see how Hurts negotiates the deal with the Eagles.
