Hailie Deegan is a rising female talent in the world of the NASCAR Truck Series. She made history by receiving her second top 10 finish at a road course layout. That made her the first woman to do so since Shawna Robinson in 1994. However, recently, she shared that she once had a near-death experience and surprisingly, it was not in racing.
During the conversation, Deegan mentioned, that she, her boyfriend, and her brother along with several other friends were floating on rafts and enjoying themselves. When they encountered a spillway, which was about a foot deep.
Deegan told “My boyfriend’s leg is caught all of a sudden I’m down there getting dragged across the bottom cement and I am starting to inhale water because you can’t see the surface.” She concluded her scary ordeal by saying that after another 20 seconds the rope loosened from her hands and she came back up.
