For the first time since 1989 and the 12th time in NASCAR history, the Bristol Dirt race was a very exciting one to witness. The race was full of surprises. Here, let's take a look at the best moments from the race.
During the 1st stage of the race, some tire-related issue occurred due to which Briscoe's car was pushed off the track. His well maintained lead was hampered due to this but he soon recovered from the loss.
Busch tied a NASCAR record held by Richard Petty with at least one win a season for 18 consecutive years. Busch felt it was only the third time in nine races this year he truly had a chance to win late in the race.
Despite of the win, Busch was booed by the fans who waited out two rain delays that pushed the first race on Easter Sunday since 1989 to nearly four hours.
Reddick was understanding and admitted he should have been more defensive. "I don’t think I did everything right. Briscoe was able to run me back down there," Reddick said.
Reddick led 99 of the 250 laps and was in command of the race until the final restart with 24 laps to go. Briscoe attempted to slide around Reddick on the inside. Both cars spun out of control as a result of the action, and Busch, who was racing third, just skirted through for his maiden victory.
