Red Bull will feature a predominantly white livery to celebrate its partnership with Honda at the Turkish Grand
Prix. However, Red Bull’s special livery tribute to Honda will not be the first time it has run a one-off
livery in F1.
The Red Bull RB16Bs of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez will run in a predominantly white livery, at the Turkish Grand Prix, on what was originally slated to be the Japanese engine manufacturer's final home race at Suzuka.
During their F1 debut season, Red Bull featured a special livery to promote the release of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith. There was even an appearance from Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and Star Wars creator George Lucas.
At the 2006 Monaco Grand Prix, Red Bull celebrated another film premiere, and this time it was: Superman Returns. Drivers David Coulthard, Christian Klien, and Robert Doornbos all wore special Superman outfits as part of the build-up to the event.
Red Bull featured a special livery for the 2012 British Grand Prix that featured more than 25,000 photos that had been sent in by fans. It was all in aid of Wings for Life, the spinal cord research foundation run by Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz.
During pre-season testing at Jerez in 2015, Red Bull used a camouflage livery reminiscent of a zebra. The team had elected not to carry out an official launch prior to testing, and so it proved to be the subject of great attention in the F1 paddock.
