Chris Bumstead reveals the truth about Iain Valliere’s retirement

The renowned coach asked if Valliere had started his Mr. Olympia 2023 prep when he announced his retirement. The four-time Classic Physique winner said Valliere had started his Mr. Olympia prep but “had some conflicts.”

“He was talking to me weeks ago, like debating it, trying to figure out if it was the right decision,” said CBum. The King of Classic Physique said Valliere was thinking about longevity. “So many bodybuilders that we know take it on way too long,” explained the 28-year-old champion.

Many bodybuilders “Wait till they’re sick or wait till they place like s**t. They lose their physique,” said the Classic Physique champion. While Valliere is 32 and still has time before his body shows signs of wear and tear, CBum’s mentor didn’t want to take the risk.
