It’s been over three days since Taylor Swift bombed the internet with a two-hour appearance on New Heights, a podcast hosted by Jason Kelce and her partner, Travis Kelce. Out of all the things the Blank Space singer discussed, the reveal of her upcoming album The Life of a Showgirl (to be released on October 3 this year) was perhaps the biggest highlight.

The album is drenched in orange, including a ‘Portofino orange glitter’ vinyl edition. And when Jason asked her why the theme color was orange, her reasoning was simple: “I’ve just always liked it, Jason. It feels like kind of energetically how my life has felt. And this album is about what was going on behind the scenes in my inner life during this tour, which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant.” Now, ever since the Grammy-winner has revealed the theme color, orange fever has already taken over the world, including the automobile giant Mercedes-Benz.

FOX Sport’s Charissa Thompson, during her visit to the Mercedes-Benz Expo, shared an insight on her Instagram story that likely tags along with the automobile giant to her fanbase. That story featured the latest flagship car by the $60.32 billion company, the Mercedes-Benz SO AMG, the color? Orange. Thompson described the flagship car model’s color as being “inspired by Taylor Swift.”

With a picture of her standing alongside the car, she wrote, “@taylorswift they got the orange memo.” While this subtle endorsement flew under the radar compared to megabrands now going for orange, its impact resonated deeply with the fans and cultural watchers alike. Her influence isn’t just a marketing gimmick anymore. It’s running like a movement.

Now, while this may be the first time Swift talked about the theme color of her next album and the upcoming Eras Tour, the 35-year-old singer had already given a hint during last year’s Eras Tour.

Many fans may have missed it, but when Swift wrapped up her tour in December 2024, she left through an orange door. And it was done on purpose. “I would leave the stage every night, going down the elevator lift. That’s how every single Eras Show ended, except for one, except for the last one, where I exited through a door, an orange door to be specific,” the singer confirmed that it was a hint that she would be entering a new Era.

“That actually was an Easter egg. Basically, the reason why I chose to exit that way is because I kind of wanted to give a little subliminal hint to the fans that I may be leaving the Eras Tour era, but I was also entering a new era… I was pretty happy that they noticed that. I was like, trained them well,” Swift added.
