We all know what happened with Jordan Chiles in the 2024 Paris Olympics. There is no denying that the repercussions of it did take a toll on her mental health, but the big question is whether she will be back. Addressing her stance for the LA Olympics, she stated, “For now, I’m still embracing Paris.” She shared that she still has a year of college left, and then she’ll see. And while there is time to LA, Jordan has been completely off elite gymnastics since Paris. The same goes with Jade Carey, as well.

“I’m not doing elite this year, so I just have them to focus on and that’s it,” confessed Jade Carey in an interview. Again, this was for the whole of the 2025 season, and she has not stepped onto the mat as a gymnast for the 2025 US Classic and the 2025 Xfinity Championships. But what about the coming season? There are no clear answers yet, and their latest action? It has only clouded the situation.

Jade Carey took to her TikTok handle two days ago to post a vlog, captioned, “a day in my life in NOLA.” It was from the 2025 Xfinity Championships, held in New Orleans, and the Olympian was present there to slide the medals down the winner’s neck, sign some autographs, etc. She had captured all these moments and uploaded them to her TikTok handle. Then, there was one moment where Jordan Chiles also jumped into it, putting a more opaque cover over their gymnastics future. What happened?

“So,” Carey began. “We are currently,” Jordan chimed in, “no longer,” continued Carey, “national team members,” they said together. Both of them have skipped the 2025 elite events, including the U.S. Classic, Winter Cup, and remain excluded from the U.S. national team. But there is still some sun in these clouds.

Notice how Jordan said “currently”? That can be a hint that in the future, near or far, they may be back. But when would that be is the big question?

American brand Wendy’s has said that the Beavers graduate would be returning next year, but we do not have any official confirmation. Jordan Chiles has also only confirmed her return to collegiate gymnastics. And in the meantime, both of them remain skeptical about the LA Olympics.

Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey are not clear about LA

In the 2025 NCAA, Jordan Chiles earned three WCGA All-America honors at the NCAA Championships and four regular-season All-America honors to bring her career All-America total to 16, fourth-most in UCLA history. She has promised that she will be returning to the 2026 NCAA gymnastics season, noting that she will not leave her Bruins alone.

What’s your perspective on:

Are Jordan Chiles and Jade Carey done with elite gymnastics, or is a comeback on the horizon?

Have an interesting take?

But when asked about the LA Olympics. The answer has not been clear. “It’s on my mind,” she said in an interview. “It’s not completely out of my head. I still think about it.” And Jade Carey, too, is once again in the same boat.

When she was asked about LA, she said that it is great to have the Olympics in the City of Angels. But there is a twist.

She pointed out that she is “still just figuring out, at the end of the day, if my head and my heart will be in it, because it’s not gonna work unless it is. So yeah, just taking it one day at a time and figuring out what I wanna do.”

At this rate, it might be almost a new team for LA because even Suni Lee is on her time off from gymnastics, and so is Simone Biles. Now, only time will say what LA has in store…
